Another week has gone by and it’s time again for Top 5 Tuedays. Please check out the lovely Shanah @ the Bionic Bookworm, who hosts this awesome Tuesday theme monthly. And the theme for this Tuesday is:
Top 5 Fictional Friendships 👭
I was really looking forward to this theme coming around because I love the idea. I’ve read so many books and one of the best things about reading the lives of these many characters is seeing their friendships. I love a well-written bookish friendship – one that I can totally see happening, and even a few that surprise me! I can’t wait to see what others are putting for this post!
Let’s get to it!
1. Elizabeth & Jane Bennet

I absolutely love P&P, but one of the reasons I do is because of Lizzy and Jane. They’re sisters, but they’re also best friends – they tell each other everything, they support each other, and they’re also not afraid to give each other constructive criticism or lay out harsh truths. It’s just a really beautiful, strong female friendship.
2. Harry, Ron, & Hermione

Okay, okay, you had to know the Golden Trio would make it in here! As a confessed Potterhead, I would be remiss if I didn’t include them. I love this friendship triangle because each person brings something different to the group, but they’re all supportive of each other (most of the time), and they trust each other completely. I just love their dynamic and how well they work together, especially in the later books. It is so great to chart their growth together.
3. Mina (Murray) Harker & Lucy Westenra

Another strong, female friendship! Lucy and Mina are so different from each other, but they also compliment each other greatly. I love the dynamic between them because you can tell how deeply the care and love each other and want the best for each other. Dracula is one of my favorite books and this is one of the reasons why!
4. Ella & Prince Charmont

A perfect example of a couple who are each other’s best friends. One of my favorite things about this book is watching Ella and Char become friends. Not only are they mutually respectful of each other despite their differences in class, but they both cherish their time spent together and want to know everything about each other. If ever you want a good example of a budding friendship (followed by love), this is the one to check out!
5. Cimorene, Kazul, Morwen

Another trio! I love this series (as you may know, if you follow this blog!) and one of the reasons is because it has so many empowering female characters. Cimorene is a runaway princess who becomes head chef and overall assistant to a dragon, Kazul is King of the dragons (that’s right, a King!), and Morwen is a powerful witch who know’s what’s up (and has lots and lots of cats!). They all work together and trust and respect each other and seek each others’ advice. I think they make a fantastic team and they deserve all the attention!
Honerable Mentions:
I couldn’t fit all my favorites in here, so here are other friendships I considered.
- Leah Westfall & Jefferson McCauley Kingfisher (Another best friend/love interest situation – and it’s great!)
- Inej Ghafa & Nina Zenik (because they’re too cool for school and I love them)
What do you think?
Now that you’ve seen my top five, what are your thoughts? Anyone on here you don’t know, but would like to now? Anyone you think I missed? What are your top 5? Let’s talk in the comments!
I may have done a little boogie to see Cimorene, Kazul, and Morwen made your list. Those three are some of my favorite literary characters of all time and they really have the best friendship

We share Harry, Ron and Hermione for this week’s picks 🙂
Mina and Lucy are a perfect fit. I hadn’t thought of them but they definitely need to be mentioned.

I bounced back and forth between Elizabeth and Jane and Elizabeth and Charlotte. Honestly I should have just included all three! Thank you for the comment!
