Top 5 Books I Didn’t Get To in 2019 | Top 5 Tuesdays

Hello again! It’s Tuesday, and of course that means it’s time for a Top 5 post. Top 5 Tuesdays and their topics are brought to you by Shanah @ the Bionic Bookworm. Check out her blog, she’s awesome, and this page for the list of topics for December!

I’ve met all my reading goals for 2019, but obviously there are too many books I want to read for me to have read everything I would have liked to. So today, we’re looking at the books that I didn’t get to read in 2019.

So, without further adieu, here’s the list:

In a Dark, Dark Wood – Ruth Ware

I had fully planned to read this book in October for Spooky Month. I have been meaning to read Ware’s work for a while now and just haven’t gotten to it. I even purchased a copy of this book in the hopes that it’s availability and proximity to me would make it more likely for me to read it, but…

Trouble Never Sleeps – Stephanie Tromly

Ugh, I’m so MAD at myself for not having read this book yet. It’s been ages since it first came out, I love this series, I have so many reasons to read it! I even own a copy – I bought it as soon as it came out. Now, my goal is to read it, if not this month, than in January, right away. I want to make it a priority. I have to know how things end, or if this is then end, anyway!

Fates & Furies – Lauren Groff

I really thought I’d read this book this year. I’ve been meaning to read it for a while, and yes, I have bought a copy of it. It’s been sitting in my bedside table stack for ages and who knows how long it will continue. I’m going to try and get to it this coming year. Here’s hoping that happens!

The Dire King – William Ritter

Again, another series where I have meant to finish it but haven’t. This is the fourth (and final?) book in the Jacaby series and it’s been out for a while now. I really love the series and I had hopes that I’d be able to finish it this year, but I never got around to it.

With the Fire On High – Elizabeth Acevedo

I’ve seen so many reviews of this book and heard countless good things about it and no, I did not get to it this year, but…I have plans to read it next year. I’ve been putting together my reading challenge choices for 2020 and this one is making it on there. I hope to love it as much as I’m expecting to!

Thoughts & Thanks!

What do you think of my selections? What books do you want to read but didn’t get to this year?

Thank you for reading this post. Let’s chat in the comments! And, as always, happy reading!

  1. I feel like this list could be endlessly long haha! I really wanted to start the An ember in the ashes series this year, but didn’t get to it, and I have no idea why..

    1. I’ve been wanting to start that series, too! Yeah, I probably could have gone on and on with books I meant to read. But next year is almost upon us and the reading saga continues!
