Dear Santa – I Would Like These 5 Books | Top 5 Tuesdays

Hello again! It’s Tuesday, and of course that means it’s time for a Top 5 post. Top 5 Tuesdays and their topics are brought to you by Shanah @ the Bionic Bookworm. Check out her blog, she’s awesome, and this page for the list of topics for December!

I’m always looking for new books and I have terrible impulse control when it comes to purchasing books. I also tend to buy lots of books and proceed not to read them, so that’s also…not great. But, for today’s Top 5 Tuesday, I’ll list the top 5 books I would love to receive for Christmas (in no particular order!).

So, without further adieu, here’s the list:

This Time Will Be Different – Misa Sugiura

I love, love, love this cover, for one – and I’m one of those people who eats with their eyes, first and I do judge books by their cover. That being said, I also really want to read this book. It sounds really interesting and different than a lot of YA romance novels. For one thing, it brings up Japanese internment, which has often been shuffled into the shadows of America’s history. For another, it’s diverse and I’m trying to read more diverse fiction. I would love to receive this book as a gift!

The Hunting Party – Lucy Foley

This book has shown up before on one of my Top 5 posts…Because I really, really want to read it! I love reading mystery novels and this one about friends stranded in a middle of nowhere mansion and one of them’s a killer? Sign me up! This would be a perfect gift for yours truly! It would make for great reading right now, because where I live has been completely snowed in!

The Woman Who Would Be King – Kara Cooney

I love a good non-fic about Egyptian history! I’ve always had an interest in this region and especially in Egyptology. This book focuses on Hatshepsut, who through a series of events, cross-dresses in order to rule as King of Egypt. I mean, who wouldn’t want to know more about her!? I own a handful of nonfiction books, and I think this would make a great addition.

Us Against Them – Fredrik Backman

I loved the first book and had no clue that there would be a sequel. But now that this book exists, I would so love to read it – and to be gifted it would be even better! I would actually like to own the first one, as well. Maybe a double-feature gift would be in order…

My Lady’s Choosing: An Interactive Romance Novel – Kitty Curan

I’ve been getting more into Romance novels of late, and I came across this particular book at my library and knew I wanted to read it. I’m also a big fan of choose your own adventure stories (I have both Shakespeare-themed ones by Ryan North, which are excellent), and I’d love to read this one. I think it would be a fun gift.

Thoughts & Thanks!

What do you think of my selections? What books would you like to receive from Santa?

Thank you for reading this post. Let’s chat in the comments! And, as always, happy reading!
