The following months are going to be kind of crazy because I’m taking a class on Teen Library Materials. I’ll be reading lots and lots of books that I didn’t really have on my TBR before, but they are now. On top of this, of course, I have my challenge books that I’m looking to read. So hopefully I’ll be meeting all the goals I’d like to meet. We’ll see!
My Reading Goals:
Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge 2020:

Binti by Nnedi Okorafor: This book fulfills the “sci-fi/fantasy novella (under 120 pages)” prompt. I’m looking to pick some shorter stories this month, since I’ve got a lot on my plate. I’ve read Okorafor’s Akata Witch, which is a YA sci-fi/fantasy, which I didn’t really care for, but I’ve heard good things about this one, so we’ll see!
Reading Women Challenge:

Binti by Nnedi Okorafor: Okay, yes, I’m doubling up on this one. This book will fulfill the prompt “A book featuring Afrofuturism or Africanfuturism.”
I don’t think I’ll be doing ARC of the month this month because…I’ve got so much on my plate! Now is one of those times where I wished I could read faster than I do…
2020 Diversity Reading Challenge:
Guess which book I’m reading….

It’s Binti. Yes, it’s Binti. I’m sure anybody who’s just scrolling through this post will think I just accidentally posted the same photo over and over or there’s a glitch!
Anyway, for the 2020 Diversity Reading challenge, I’m taking on their monthly prompts mini-challenge, and Binti helps satisfy the February prompt, “poc: Black/African-American.” I’m going to assume they mean the writer should be a person of color, specifically one who is black or African-American. In this case, Nnedi is African-American, specifically Nigerian-American.
Class Book Picks:
So this month, as part of my class, I have to read several books. In this case I’ll just post the myriad books that I need to read this month:

What books are you reading this month?
If you’ve read any books from my list, let me know what you think! Do you have any of these selections on your TBR? Let me know in the comments!
It’s another month of reading dangerously and I hope I’m up to the challenge!
Binti is very good! I hope you will love it!
Enjoy your reading!
