Favorite Book of the Month:

I just love Neil Gaiman. I know it’s weird that I hadn’t yet read this book, especially since I read M is for Magic ages ago, which contains a short story that he then expanded into this novel. But there it is. I really enjoyed the spookiness of this book – the atmosphere is just so great! I loved learning all about the ghosts who live in this graveyard and of the way this supernatural world works. Seeing things through Bod’s eyes was very interesting and I really enjoyed listening to the audio, too! Gaiman read it, which I love because his voice is amazing.
Least Favorite Book of the Month:

I know this book is a Prince Honor book, but I just didn’t really get into it. I had to read it for a class, otherwise I don’t think I ever would have picked it up. I’ve not read anything else by Donnelly, but I didn’t find her writing style to be very interesting to me. It wasn’t bad, but it just didn’t wow me, either. I also found the book to be very slow and uneventful. I don’t really read much historical fiction, but this wouldn’t have been a time period I would naturally be drawn to. I won’t not recommend it, because I do think it is a good book, it’s just not for me.

How about you?
How was your month of reading? Did you meet any of your goals? What was your favorite book you read this month? Least favorite? Let me know in the comments!
I adore The Graveyard Book, I think it’s one of the best Neil Gaiman books I’ve read and he has such a way with imagination for children’s books especially.
