Hello again! It’s Tuesday, and of course that means it’s time for a Top 5 post. Top 5 Tuesdays and their topics are brought to you by Shanah @ the Bionic Bookworm. Check out her blog, she’s awesome, and this page for the list of topics for April!
I’m sure I could make a much longer list than five of popular books I haven’t read yet. But I’ll do my best to stick to just five. There are so many books that I need to read and I’m hoping I’ll get around to reading these five this year.

Dublin Murder Squad – Tana French

I really enjoy reading mysteries and I always hear such good things about this particular series. My mom read them and really liked them and she’s a huge mystery-genre reader. So I know that I really need to step on it and read these books already!
The Kane Chronicles – Rick Riordan

I really enjoyed the Percy Jackson series, but for some reason I haven’t yet gotten around to reading Riordan’s Kane Chronicles series. I mean, I love Egyptian mythology, which is what this series focuses on, so I can’t believe I haven’t picked up these books yet!
Charlotte Holmes – Brittany Cavallaro

Like many, I enjoy anything Sherlock Holmes related. When I came across this series that involves the “great-great-great granddaughter” of that famous detective, I knew I had to read it. A friend of mine has read some and really enjoys them. She’s recommended books to me before and I usually enjoy them too, so I have a good feeling about this series.
The Illuminae Files – Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

This is not the first time I’ve written about this series on this blog. Yes, I definitely need to read it! I hear such rave things about it, that I really need to see what all the fuss is about! I mean, science fiction, space, a little romance…what’s not to love! Books written by two authors always intrigue me, so I’m curious to see how well this series works out.
Flame in the Mist – Renee Ahdieh

Aside from this book sounding really compelling, I’ve heard such good things about Ahdieh. If her writing is as good as people say, than I hope to really enjoy this series. I have loose plans to read it this year, since I’m participating in the Year of the Asian Reading Challenge. I think this one would be a nice choice.

Thoughts & Thanks!
What are some series you’re looking to read? Perhaps some of them have made it onto this list. Let’s chat about it in the comments! Let me know if you liked (or disliked!) any of the books I’ve mentioned here. I’d love to know what you think about them.
Thank you for reading this post. And, as always, happy reading!
I also want to read the Charlotte Holmes series. I believe I have all the books. I loved Illuminae, still have to read the last 2 books. Let me know what you think of them when you read them

I’m guilty of not finishing the Illuminae Files yet but the first book was amazing! I also enjoyed Kane Chronicles but do prefer the Percy Jackson series and spin-offs. I haven’t read The Flame in the Mist yet but I have read Renee’s The Wrath and the Dawn duology and can confirm the writing is amazing. 🙂

Illuminae Files is a really good series! So entertaining and fast. I’m looking forward to the Nevernight Chronicles and Folk of the Air series, both hopefully soon!

Yeah, I hear almost nothing about it compared to the Pecy Jackson series! I don’t know why, since I know so many people love Egyptian mythology.
