Boy, I had a few set-backs this month. For one thing, I didn’t take into account that one of the books I planned on reading this month was recently made into a film/mini-series adaptation, and thus all library copies were snatched up and had long waiting lists. For another, my summer classes are really kicking my butt! I have so much work and any time I spend reading something that isn’t class-related has me feeling guilty, so I didn’t get as much recreational reading in.
That being said, I hit most of my goals! I’m really proud of what I was able to accomplish. Let’s get into it:

Favorite Book of the Month:

I was so excited to see this book come up on NetGalley, and I was lucky enough to snag a copy. I love Padmé as a character and this book covers some of my favorite moments from The Phantom Menace. I love that this book details the lead up to and structuring of Padmé’s reign as Queen of Naboo. It was such an enjoyable read and I love, love, love this cover! Just as gorgeous as the first book!
Least Favorite Book of the Month:

Hand’s down, this book was my least favorite this month, which is a real shame, because I was looking forward to it. I saw the movie adaptation and really enjoyed it, so I purchased a copy. This month, I finally got around to reading it and…not fun. In fact, it was mostly boring and I really didn’t like the main character. The ending is so unsatisfying! I definitely don’t recommend it.

How about you?
How was your month of reading? Did you meet any of your goals? What was your favorite book you read this month? Least favorite? Let me know in the comments!
You Had Me at Hola is really intriguing! I honestly don’t think I will read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes since I haven’t seen a lot of great reviews about it and I don’t want it to ruin my love for The Hunger Games.

I can understand that! It certainly isn’t something I would say a Hunger Games fan needs to read, it’s more of a “if your curious” kind of book. I didn’t love it, but I think it was as boring or garbage as some have said it is. You’d be fine skipping it, but I don’t think it would tarnish your love of the series! I feel neutral about it.

Also, You Had Me at Hola was really cute. It’s very diverse and it’s got a lot of heat. If you like romance novels, I’d definitely recommend it!

I have just bought The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and I keep putting it off, purely because I’m not sure its going to be my cup of tea!
Congrats on such a good month ❤

I would have put it off, too, but I ended up reading it to my mom aloud while she’s been recovering from surgery. We both love the Hunger Games, but I think we both just felt so-so about this book.
