It’s Tuesday, which mean’s it’s also Top 10 Tuesdays, which is hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl, make sure to check her blog out!
Anyways, here’s the list

This prompt is such a fun idea! I know there are times when I’m interested in a book solely because of the title. I have read a lot of books with interesting titles, but it took me a bit to decide on which titles I wanted to include in this list, simply because I had to decide whether I wanted to go “funny ha-ha,” or “funny strange,” and I guess my conclusion is…it’s a bit of both! I’ll leave you to decide which one you think each book is!
Anyways, here’s the list

The Owls Have Come to Take Us Away by Ronald L. Smith
This is a middle-grade sci-fi/horror story about a young boy who believes he was abducted by aliens and no one will believe him. This book was very weird – the title was definitely what drew me.

Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman
I mean, this title, when I first saw it, really confused me! Anyway, it’s a great book, though I think I need to be British to get most of the humor. I did enjoy the min-series, though!

The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix
This title, I feel, just makes you stop and think for a second – like, are all the booksellers left-handed? Why? Was that a stipulation before being hired? Anyway, this book is a really fun, magical-realism/fantasy novel from one of my favorite authors.

The Inquisitor’s Tale: Or, the Three Magical Children and Their Holy Dog by Adam Gidwitz
I think I have a thing for really long book titles, but I mean doesn’t this title make you want to read the book to find out what the heck is going on? I love this book, by the way. It’s a middle-grade, historical fiction book and it’s amazingly well-written.

So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed by Jon Ronson
I just like the sound of this title. I think it’s quite fun, even though it’s on a very serious subject about people who have gone through very big, very public shaming. I enjoy Ronson’s work and this book was a very interesting read.

It Ain’t So Awful, Falafel by Firoozeh Dumas
This is such a fun middle-grade novel about a girl from an Iranian-American family who has to deal with growing anti-Iranian sentiment and her desire to be more American than Iranian.

Frogkisser! by Garth Nix
It’s short. It’s to the point. It’s funny! I love this book, and it’s full of light-hearted fun-poking at traditional fairytale stories. Garth Nix is an amazing writer and yes, he’s made it twice on this list!

Fortunately, The Milk by Neil Gaiman
Yes, Gaiman makes it twice on this list, too! The title is one of the main reasons I picked up this book. It’s just so intriguing. Like, why is it fortunate that there’s milk?

How to Invent Everything: A Survival Guide for the Stranded Time Traveler by Ryan North
Clearly I have a type: books with subtitles. This book, by the way, is so, so good! It’s got an explanation for how to make anything you could think of in order to survive in the past before it was invented.

Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling
This book is another example of the title pulling me in. Who doesn’t want to read a book with a title like this? Also, I love cacti. This book is another middle-grade, fish-out-of-water story about a girl born with no arms. I highly recommend it!

These titles are really fun, and I hadn’t heard of many of them — so thanks for introducing them! I’m left-handed, so I particularly enjoyed the London booksellers one.
