Welcome back, it’s Tuesday, which mean’s it’s also Top 10 Tuesdays, which is now hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl, make sure to check her blog out!
This Tuesday we’re taking a look at books I’ve recently added to my vast (and constantly growing) book collection. I made a small haul recently due to Christmas splurging and now you get to see the result.
Anyways, here’s the list:
Elinor & Terciel by Garth Nix | I bought tickets to a virtual talk with the author and it came with this amazing book, plus a author-signed book plate. I will definitely be cherishing this book. I enjoyed the story very much!
A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn | Though I did not receive this for Christmas, I did receive a gift card to my favorite indie book store where I bought this. It’s been on my to-read for a while, and I’m excited to read it!
The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware | Bought with the same gift card as the previous book! I have also been meaning to read this one. I’ve read her book In a Dark, Dark Wood and enjoyed it and I’ve been wanting to read more mystery lately!
The Korean Vegan Cookbook by Joanne Lee Molinaro | I love, love, love Korean food. I snapped this book up as soon as I heard about it because I’ve been trying to eat more plant-based to be more environment-friendly. I am so excited to try out these recipes!
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir | I have waited too long to read this book. I love Weir’s writing and I do enjoy a good sci-fi story. I picked this up when I bought the Korean cookbook just because I can’t stop myself when I’m in a bookstore.
Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan | I just finished the ARC of this book and it is out today! I pre-ordered for the gorgeous cover and also because the story is so engrossing. Look for my review which should be up on the blog soon!
The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green | I’ve been hearing rave reviews of this book and I already know that I like Green’s writing, having read many of his books. I bought the audiobook of this one, since I generally enjoy listening to nonfiction more than reading it. It’s read by Green himself, which is fun, and I’m looking forward to giving it a listen!
Call Us What We Cary by Amanda Gorman | This book I pre-ordered waaaay back when I heard it was coming out last year. Gorman blew me away at President Biden’s inauguration and I knew I wanted to read more from her. I am so excited to delve into this book!
Oddball by Sarah Andersen | A Christmas gift from my sister! I adore Sarah Scribbles and this book is another collection of her comics. I always feel so seen when I see her work. Sarah and I are definitely kindred spirits.
Cards on the Table by Agatha Christie | Another audiobook I purchased recently. I’m slowly working my way through Christie’s Poirot series. I haven’t gotten this far, yet, but I’m accumulating each of the audiobooks as I go because I love, love, love listening to them – they have such excellent readers (including Poirot himself, David Suchet!).
How about you?
What are your top ten? If you’ve read any of the books I’ve listed here, let me know what you think, I’d love to hear from you!
