Welcome back, it’s Tuesday, which mean’s it’s also Top 10 Tuesdays, which is now hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl, make sure to check her blog out!
I have so many authors I want to read and haven’t yet that it would far exceed the limit of 10 for this list.
Anyways, here’s the list:
I’ve been meaning to read French’s books for a while now. I enjoy reading mystery/thriller, and her Dublin Murder Squad series has been in my TBR pile since I came across it. I honestly don’t know why I haven’t read them by now, but perhaps this year, I finally will.
I think it speaks to the writing that I love this book, since I usually do not like reading literary novels, so that alone is enough for me to believe this is a classic in the making.
I hear about Scalzi all the time, since he seems to write quite a bit. His books tend to be Sci-Fi, which I enjoy reading. I have a couple of his books on my TBR, actually.
He just came out with Kaiju Preservation Society, which sounds pretty epic. I have his book Lock In on my TBR, as well.
I’m a pretty big fan of Sherlock read-alikes. Cavallaro’s Charlotte Holmes series has been on my TBR for a long time, and I actually own a copy of the first book. So why haven’t I read it? Well, I’m actually hoping to start the series this year. I could use some more mystery in my life.
I actually gifted The Gilded Wolves to a friend of mine, because it seemed like a book she’d really enjoy. I would like to read it at some point, but Chokshi has been on my TBR because of her Aru Shah series, part of the Rick Riordan Presents series. I own a copy of the first book, and now all I need to do is read it. I hear good things about Chokshi’s work!
I wonder how many authors are on this list whose books I already own? This happens to be another one! I want to read Hartman’s Seraphina series, and I actually bought both the first book of that series and Tess of the Road. I mean, I was sold at dragons. I’m a big dragon fan in my fantasy books.
R. O. Kwon
Yes, I own this book too! Well, I bought it spontaneously when I was at the book store because the cover caught my eye and the summery sounded intriguing. I haven’t read anything by Kwon yet, but I look forward to reading this book of hers. It’s actually pretty short, so I would think I could read it pretty quickly, too! I should just read it this year.
Bray is just one of those YA authors that I never read when she was popular. I would see her books all the time, but I never thought about picking one up. Then I read an article that talked about a number of authors, but it mentioned her book, Going Bovine and it intrigued me, so I put her on my TBR. I think I’d probably like to read her Diviners series, as well, as it sounds interesting.
I probably would have been all over Messenger’s Keeper of the Lost Cities series if I grew up while they were being published. But, since I work in Children’s Lit, I see them all the time and they sound so interesting! So I have had her on my TBR list for a while. I would like to read at least the first book this year. Who knows, I might get hooked and end up reading a whole bunch of them!
I think I put Highsmith on my TBR once I discovered that she had penned a whole bunch of books of which I’ve seen movie adaptations for. Anyway, I have been wanting to read her book Strangers on a Train, actually, but I might end up reading more from her. She seems to write a lot of mysterious, creepy stuff.
I hear such good things about this book and it’s been sitting on my TBR pile for a while, actually. It seems like just the kind of light, romantic fluff that I enjoy reading when I’m in a slump. I know that there are at least two books in this series, so if I end up liking the first, there’s more to read!
I also just really love the cover for this book, it’s so artistic and beautiful. I’m a big fan of papercraft, which it looks like this cover is made with.
