Last Current Next is a fun, quickly little window into my reading habits. I get to talk about the book I read last, one of the books I’m reading currently (yours truly is not a monogamous reader, I have many books in my currently reading stack, and I’m too excited to stick to just one book, I mean…), and the book(s) I plan on reading next.
Last Read: Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey

I’ve been participating in Libro.fm’s Audiobook Listening Challenge. I ventured into a “new-to-me” genre of self-help and tried out this audiobook, read by the author. It was very interesting, as her whole philosophy is built on how “grind culture” and capitalism have kept us from truly resting, that we shouldn’t be ashamed or feel lazy about resting since napping/resting is self-care and helps us in so many ways. I learned a lot while listening to this book and it’s definitely something I will be thinking about quite a bit now, so I guess the book’s goal is accomplished!
Current Read: And Break the Pretty Kings by Lena Jeong

Currently, I am reading And Break the Pretty Kings, of which I received an ARC (advanced reader copy). I have a deep love of Korean culture, and this book dazzles with Korean cultured-inspired fantasy. It is rich and magical and I’m enjoying what I’ve read so far! This is definitely more of a high fantasy book, but I don’t mind, since fantasy is a genre I read quite a bit of. I am hopeful that I will enjoy it the whole way through. Look forward to my review of this within the next few weeks!
Next Read: Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

My library hold finally came in on this book and I’m very excited! I’ve seen this book everywhere, as I’m sure you have too. There’s a lot of hype surrounding it, which could be good or bad. I don’t always share public opinion when it comes to books, which is fine because everyone has their own tastes and we all like different things. Still, I like to try books from the popular lists because I’m always curious about what all the fuss is about. This book is not outside of my general reading interests, so I’m sure there will be aspects about it that I will enjoy. We’ll see how I really feel once I crack it open.
