Last Current Next is a fun, quickly little window into my reading habits. I get to talk about the book I read last, one of the books I’m reading currently (yours truly is not a monogamous reader, I have many books in my currently reading stack, and I’m too excited to stick to just one book, I mean…), and the book(s) I plan on reading next.
Last Read: Immortal Longings by Chloe Gong

I was so lucky to receive Gong’s latest boo, Immortal Longings through NetGalley. It’s loosely based off of/inspired by Shakespeare’s Antony & Cleopatra (keeping with Gong’s Shakespeare-themed writings). I thoroughly enjoyed the story, though I am heartbroken that it is a series and I now must wait ages for the next book (and the one after that 😢). I highly recommend this book if action-packed drama and fight scenes, plus a little enemies-to-lovers-to…
Current Read: The Apology by Jimin Han

Currently, I am reading The Apology by Jimin Han. This is another ARC I have received from NetGalley. I’m finding it very interesting. It’s a family drama that seems to include a couple generations. The family is Korean and the main character is an old woman looking back on her life. There also seems to be a bit of magical realism, too, which is intriguing.
Next Read: The Old Woman with the Knife by Gu Byeong-Mo

This book has been on my TBR for a while. I like a good mystery/thriller, but this one intrigued me because the protagonist is an assassin, but she’s an old woman when this book takes place and she’s trying to avoid being assassinated herself! It sounds really crazy, but also super intriguing. I have not delved into many books that have older protagonists, so I’m looking forward to this change of pace. I also find it a bit fun to read a book that is about assassins in general. I hope it’s as good as it sounds!
