Last Current Next is a fun, quickly little window into my reading habits. I get to talk about the book I read last, one of the books I’m reading currently (yours truly is not a monogamous reader, I have many books in my currently reading stack, and I’m too excited to stick to just one book, I mean…), and the book(s) I plan on reading next.
Last Read: Dungeons & Drama by Kristy Boyce

I received this book as an ARC through NetGalley. I have read Boyce’s work (Hot British Boyfriend) before, but I put it down because I didn’t really care for the characters. This book, however, was extremely cute and I really enjoyed it. I do like the fake-dating trope, and this book also had D&D in it, which is something I love. Lots of drama, lots of likeable characters and some realistic teen struggles. Be on the lookout for my review later this week.
Current Read: All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

I’m currently reading All the Light We Cannot See on the recommendation from a friend and in anticipation of the adaptation of it to miniseries. I don’t normally pick up books like this one, but I really like the story so far. I’m about halfway through. It’s hefty, but it is peopled with interesting characters and it’s not the typical play of most WWII stories, so it doesn’t feel like I’m treading familiar ground, which I like.
Next Read: A Fragile Enchantment by Allison Saft

I’ve read a book from Saft before, so when I saw this ARC was available, I requested it and was lucky to be given a copy. This is a fantasy story inspired by Regency-era England. I mean, I’m here for that! Plus a forbidden romance, a magical dressmaker, secrets, and societal unrest? Bring on the drama, I am ready!
